![]() ![]() And if whoever was involved in the graphic novels is involved in the movie/TV shows please fire them!!! One last note, why did you choose Jair Ohmsford to make the first graphic novel about. So please don't do anymore graphic novels. This comic book was corny and I don't find the Shannara series corny at all. Was I wrong, this is the worst graphic novel I have ever read next to maybe the prophet series but at least the prophet series wasn't as corny. When I caught wind of a graphic novel with Jair, Slanter, and mostly Garet Jax, yeah that's gonna work. ![]() I absolutely love the Sword of Shannara series of novels. Then I would say that Terry Brooks needs to avoid the graphic novel genre. If this was any indication of the writer/artists relationship in quality of a story in the genre of graphic novels. The graphic novel format was made very clear in all product information and I certainly knew what I was purchasing. As for those reviewers who were disappointed the book was not a text-based novel, all I can say is read before you buy. I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it as much had I not already read Wishsong and Indominable. I recommend The Dark Wraith for Shannara fans, but would have to disagree with book's back cover, which suggests this graphic novel is an "ideal opportunity" for the unfamiliar reader to delve into Brooks' fantasy world. In addition, we do learn a bit more about Colgine's druid past. I especially liked the concept of rekindling Paranor's presence, even if it had to be stopped because of the evil behind it. It cannot be compared to Terry Brooks' novels, but for the reader familiar with Shannara and the Ohmsford clan, this is an entertaining extension that touches on many aspects of the mythology. ![]() This graphic novel is a fun and quick read that focuses on Jair and his evolving magic. I found myself wanting to know more about Jair, Brin, Kimber, Colgine, and Slanter. ![]() I had just finished Wishsong and the short story Indominable, so perhaps the timing was perfect. ![]()
